The Strange Voyage of War

On February 11, 2010, in Miscellaneous, by Robert Dallison

Thought of the day… May every statesman ponder these timeless words by Winston Churchill.

“Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that anyone who embarks on the strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he will encounter. The statesman who yields to war fever must realize that once the signal is given, he is no longer the master of policy but the slave of unforeseeable and uncontrollable events.”

Longest run I've done in a while. Managed to hold a steady pace throughout., even on the long two-mile climb up to Headington. One more long run on Mon or Tue, and hopefully I'll be ready for the 13-miler next weekend. Looks like a sub-2 is out of reach based on today's pace, but race-day adrenaline may make the difference! posted 193 days ago
